It's nice to strap on the snowshoes and start walking, especially if you can do the strapping in your own driveway.

Here the route starts in my own yard.

Trailhead

After crossing the street, a short traverse and then descent brings you through the aspen grove.

Trailhead

At the bottom of the hill, the route follows an abandoned railroad grade. It's pretty flat.

Approach
Turn at the fence that separates our subdivision and head toward the creek. Instead of lodgepole, it's sort of meadowy. Approach

Meadow view.

Approach

After looping back and returning on the railroad grade, start climbing through open trees.

Approach

Back through the aspen.

Approach

There's the house across the drainage.

Approach

Back in our yard and almost home. It's always good to be home.
