Slick Rock

A spur-of-the-moment climb of the Three Cracks on Slick Rock.

Sean called me on Saturday, asking if I wouldn't be too bored on a climb of Slick Rock. After all, I've done it approximately 30 times. However, that now extends back more than 40 years.

I was immediately in.

These photos were taken by Julie with her cell phone. It was Mother's Day, so she brought her mother along to show how crazy her old husband is.

To add to the zoom of her cell phone, she shot this through a pair of binoculars.

If you click, you can see Sean and I at the bottom of the third crack.

These are in order of zoom, not in order of climbing. So here we are a bit more visible in the second crack.

The rock was in great shape, but with some early-seaon lichen. The creek crossing was do-able on the log jam. And there was still a little snow left to posthole in the descent gully.
