Sunday. It's almost the middle of December and I have not yet skied, for crying out loud. So Jeff met me at 7:30 and we skinned up Brundage. There had been fresh snow yesterday, but we both had too much going on. But today worked. It had been clear last night, so the temperature was right around 0°. What a way to start the season! |

We climbed at a brisk pace, so we stayed pretty warm. Nonetheless, that sunshine just above us looked inviting. |

As I was cresting the top, my friend Bob was looking at the web cam in Boise. Hey, I know that guy! | ![]() |
There was just barely a breath of wind, so we got to enjoy the spectacular horizon to the east. But it was still cold, so we didn't stay long. |

The snow was so cold that it was sort of slow. But fun. Probably even better when the sun gets up. We were home by 9:30. |
