Piestwa Peak is right in Phoenix, Arizona. It used to be called Squaw Butte, but was renamed for a soldier injured during the Iraq War. We were visiting Grandma in Goodyear (a suburb just west of Phoenix) and looking for a good hike. Camel's Back seemed too crowded, so this is what we found. |

This is a big park, with a huge parking lot. The lower trail is paved/cobbled. |

The upper trail is much more rugged, but there are still tons of people on the trail the entire way, most days. |
